Frequently Asked Questions

How long has this service been available?

Well-being checks by paramedics in Central Florida began in 2017 with thousands of home visits completed to date.

Who employs the paramedics that provide this service?

This service is offered by MobileMedix Plus, LLC, a Florida licensed corporation with offices in Orlando. Some visits may be conducted by our non-profit affiliate Care-A-Medix using the same procedures and protocols.

Do the paramedics arrive in an ambulance?

Our paramedics use their own cars to make visits. There are no lights or sirens as these are not emergency vehicles.

Do you provide transportation?

Although the well-being assessment sometimes recommends a transportation source, HealthCheck Services is not an emergency or non-emergency transport service.

What happens if the paramedic discovers a serious medical issue?

If life threatening, our paramedics provide immediate advanced first aid, contact 9-1-1, and remain with the family members until emergency services arrive and resolve the health issue. If non-life threatening, our paramedic will attempt to notify the individual ordering the service using listed home, mobile, or text phone numbers.

What tools or assistance may be recommended to support aging loved ones?

Home safety equipment, sensor monitoring technology, 24/7 response center access, senior transportation, home handyman services, elder law, private duty homecare, VA benefits, and more. We recommend well-established local companies that we have worked with over the years. You are free to accept or reject any recommendation, use a company we name, or anyone of your choice.
